OWNER, PRESIDENT - LAURENCE MAHER

Holding a bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV/Film (with a minor in music) from the University of North Texas, Laurence went on to establish the company Acton Video Productions, specializing in film and video at every level, including commercials, narratives, weddings, and event videography. Shortly after, Laurence formed the sister independent film production company AMP Entertainment, under which he wrote, directed, and co-produced his first feature, Almost. His second feature, the action-thriller Receiver, is currently in production, and his third film, a feature horror, is in the works. Laurence has written and directed an abundance of short films, was the director of photography for several shorts and features, has written and recorded a full-length pop music album, and is the author of many short stories, 2 novels and a large number of screenplays. His hobbies include weight training, martial arts and playing trombone. 2009 will mark the premiere of his absurdist TV/Web comedy series, One Cheap Move.

TECHNICAL CONSULTANT, PRODUCER – SCOTT POWERS

Graduating with a Masters in Computer Science, Scott joined the working week as a software engineer at the National Center for Super Computing Applications at the University of Illinois. There he headed up the X/Mosaic and HTTPd projects before leaving for a 3D Modeling company named Raindrop Geomagic. He has always had an interest in the multimedia market and currently does DVD compilation, artwork, and HTML coding for AVP and AMP. In addition, he is one of the co-founders of the unique communications skills program Concept Keys.  His production skills have been invaluable on several projects including two feature films.

AFFILIATE / DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EFFECTS:   CALEB STONE

Caleb graduated first in his class at the D.A.V.E. School, one of the leading special effects schools in the world, and since 2002, he has been the owner and president of Silver Media Studios, specializing in graphic design and print work for media of all kinds.  Caleb’s extensive knowledge as a 3D generalist makes him and his company a powerful filmmaking ally.  He is an expert with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, ImageReady, Quark Express, Macromedia Freehand, and Lightwave.  And few people in the industry have his level of schooling or experience with motion capture, motion tracking, compositing, 2D-3D creation and animation, rotoscoping, image keying, etc.  Caleb’s talents in both special effects and advertising imagery gives AVP / AMP the competitive edge it needs in it’s productions.

FILM PRODUCER AND AUDIO TECHNICIAN:  BARBARA ROSS

Barbara has over twelve years experience in the New York Film and Video Industry.  She has worked professionally as a film and video editor, moving quickly up through the ranks at one of The Big Apple’s most successful high-end video production companies, eventually becoming the head producer and manager, creating instructional videos for such software companies as Adobe and MacIntosh.  She is also the owner and co-manager of a music and audio recording studio, and is a professional in the art of sound mixing.  Producer credits include “The Accountant” and “Orsen Welles Sells His Soul to the Devil,” which aired on HBO.  Barbara’s extensive managerial experience and honed skills in various film and video positions make her invaluable to AMP as a wise and trustworthy leader.

COOPERATE LIAISON AND AUDIO-VISUAL TECHNICIAN:  GREGORY JOHN ROSS

Greg Ross is the former head editor for Warner Brother’s owned DC Comics Online, making him a rare connection in the entertainment industry.  At DC, he was in charge of the ins and outs of what creatively and technically represented DC comics to millions of fans on then internet, and he regularly associated with powerful filmmakers and celebrities of all kinds to promote mega-budget Warner Brothers superhero films.  He has also worked as a video codec and compression technician at one of New York’s most successful video production houses, making him an expert in the intricacies of film and video delivery formats.  His twenty years experience as an base player and musician has also branched widely into professional audio production.  He is the owner and co-manager of a professional music and audio recording studio, specializing in sound mixing of all kinds.  Greg’s industry nepotism and video and audio talents make him a strong asset to to our company.
